Fiber Optic Video Extension System

Thinklogical, a leading provider of fiber optic KVM routing and extension technologies, will showcase the highly anticipated new line of Video Extension systems at InfoComm 2011 (booth #2779). The new Q-Series offers a number of premium high-reliability features in a rack mount chassis, such as support for up to 4 modules of DVI or SDI over fiber. In addition, DVI and Dual-Link DVI modules are available with options for audio and networking. Ready for the challenges of demanding Commercial AV applications, the Q-Series can combine any variety of DVI or SDI modules in a transmitter/receiver unit for a space saving and cost effective solution. The SDI module supports two SD/HD signals or one 3G signal (as well as dual-link HD-SDI).

Using multi-mode or single-mode fiber, the system allows users to locate DVI or SDI monitor(s) via fiber from just a few meters up to 40 kilometers away from the controlling computer, securely, and without the loss of resolution or performance. Thinklogical's patent-pending MRTS (Multi Rate Transmission System) technology provides outstanding visualization capabilities and is designed to work in high-performance commercial AV computing environments. In addition, the Q-Series system architecture provides hot-swappable, current sharing power supply modules, a critical component in high up-time environments.
“The significant performance and the cost effectiveness of the Q-Series makes today's higher- end video production formats within reach of a wider professional audience,” states Kevin Keefe, Vice President of Research and Development at Thinklogical. “Additionally, users can leverage the seamless integration of Thinklogical's VX Routers. When combined with the Q- Series, this gives customers' additional topology options in building a high-performance fiber optic extension and switching infrastructure.”
