NG-PON2 can be implemented in many wavelength
plans to replace or coexist with previous PON technologies. In 2017, a proposed design was simulated taking
into consideration the practical parameters of existing systems, the results shows
that the system is reliable for implementation for 80-Gbps, utilizing 8-pairs of wavelengths transmitted over 40 Km
and distributed and received by 128-users with an acceptable data rate.
