Fiber Optic Monitoring

Halliburton

Founded in 1919, Halliburton is one of the world's largest providers of products and services to the energy industry. With over 50,000 employees, representing 140 nationalities, and operations in approximately 70 countries, the company serves the upstream oil and gas industry throughout the lifecycle of the reservoir – from locating hydrocarbons and managing geological data, to drilling and formation evaluation, well construction, completion and production optimization.

Halliburton comprises 14 product service lines (PSLs). The PSLs operate in two divisions: Drilling and Evaluation, and Completion and Production. Their Consulting and Project Management PSL works across both divisions and is the spearhead of our integrated-services strategy. Its financial results are included in the Drilling and Evaluation Division. PSLs are primarily responsible and accountable for strategy, technology development, process development, people development and capital allocation.

Fiber Optic monitoring services include a portfolio of distributed and point sensors used to evaluate wellbores from unconvetional and mature field markets to heavy oil thermal and deep water environments.  FiberWatch® distributed temperature and acoustic sensing provide evidence of fluid movement along the wellbore throughout the well life.  FiberPoint™ sensing provides accurate pressure and temperature measurements within the wellbore to improve evaluation of fluid movement over time.  Fiber optic conveyance is also critical to consider.  SPECTRUMSM Diagnostic Service and FiberLog™ retrievable services as well as permanently deployed and pumped fiber applications each provide unique strengths with respect to fiber conveyance to fit the need for any downhole application.

Distributed Fiber Optic Services

The backbone of Pinnacle's fiber optic product line is delivering results that impact positive decision making.  StimWatch® and FlowWatch™ services have been utilized in wells globally to assess stimulation and injection efficiencies while subsequently providing production analysis.  Combining these services or using them independently allows operators to make decisions to improve well and asset performance.

StimWatch® Service

StimWatch service focuses on unconventional resource stimulation results.  This services utilizes both DTS and DAS technologies to delivery quantitative results in regards to cluster efficiency, fluid communication between wellbores, and stimulation coverage across the wellbore, all delivered with realtime data display and analysis.  This pioneering service kickstarted industry activity with fiber optics and is still an industry leading technology in the fiber optics portfolio.

FlowWatch™ Service

FlowWatch service utilizes distributed fiber optic results to focus on production flow profiling.  These measurements can be used to evaluate how production along a well changes in time.  This service has been applied in fields globally to assist in producing wells more effectively.
