MONTCHANIN, Del.,
April 26, 2012 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Acorn Energy, Inc. (nadsaq:ACFN)
today announced that the company will hold an Investor Day on May 9, 2012 to
showcase the domain changing technology and growing market opportunity for US
Seismic Systems, Inc.
USSI's target is the
oil and gas seismic market, with an addressable size of approximately $1.5
billion. The company believes that its new Ultra High Sensitivity fiber optic
sensors have the potential to increase significantly the number of oil and gas
fields being monitored. Today, the company estimates that only 3 percent of the
fields are currently monitored.
The USSI sensors,
powered only by light, are designed to replace the 50 year old sensor systems
currently deployed by potential customers and support the new oil and gas
recovery techniques needed to meet the world's increasing demand. The USSI
systems are more reliable, more precise, less expensive and inherently safer.
The investor day will
commence at the:
Hilton Woodland Hills
Hotel6360 Canoga AvenueWoodland Hills, CA 91367
at 9:30 AM with
presentations by John Moore, Chairman and CEO of Acorn Energy and Jim Anderson,
CEO of USSI. Lunch will be served at 11:30 AM, followed by a tour of the USSI
facilities. The day should conclude at approximately 2:00 PM.
