Fiber Optic
Cleaver and Stripper Market Forecast
According
to ElectroniCast, the global use of fiber optic cleavers and strippers is
forecast to reach $40 million in 2020…
Aptos, CA (USA) – November 3, 2015 -- ElectroniCast Consultants, a leading market & technology
forecast consultancy addressing the fiber optics communications industry, today
announced the release of their extensive study of the use of selected fiber
optic cleavers and strippers for the purpose of optical fiber preparation
processing.
According to
ElectroniCast, the global use of fiber
optic cleavers and strippers is forecast to increase from a projected
$36.21 million in 2015 to $40.04
million in 2020. Market forecast data
in this study report refers to consumption (use) for a particular calendar
year; therefore, this data is not cumulative data.
“There are over 40-companies involved in producing fiber optic cleavers
or strippers. Most of the leading
competitors also produce splice-on connectors, fusion splice machine and
connectors/mechanical splices,” said Stephen Montgomery, Director of the fiber
optics group at ElectroniCast.
The instrument/machine categories are segment further by the weight of
the device. The average selling price
differences between instrument/machines (stripper, cleaver, and combination),
and tools (shears, strippers, scissors and "pen" scribes) is
substantial. The 2015-2020 market
forecast of the consumption of selected fiber optic cleavers and strippers,
segment by several different devices, with a weight of less than 8kg (17.6
pounds) as well as selected hand tools.
According to ElectroniCast, in
terms of volume (quantity), the America region is projected to employ over
70-thousand new fiber optic cleaver and stripper units in 2015. The Asia Pacific region is forecast to
maintain the leadership role in relative market share in both quantity and
value. China, Korea and Japan are
leading consumers for the selected fiber optic cleaver and stripper units in
the region; however, India is acknowledged as a rapid adopter of optical fiber
communication technologies.
Due to the deployment
Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH), as well as other optical fiber use in Europe, there
is relatively substantial use of fiber optic preparation and termination
devices in the region.
