Holocom announced collaboration with Fiber SenSys, an Optex Group Company, to offer a defense-in-depth PDS solution combining Holocom PDS with a completely updated alarm system employing proven and certified fiber-optic sensor technology. This combination provides the user with two distinct layers of protection against a physical breach of cyber security. The addition of this state-of-the-art intrusion detection alarm system to the industry leading hardened Holocom PDS is a game changer for military decision makers and designated approving authorities needing to protect highly sensitive data.
Recognizing the budget realities of today’s world, Holocom and Fiber SenSys teamed up to provide this solution at a fraction of the cost of competing products. In addition, the approach meets the government’s demand for redundancy in classified network environments.
John Burns, Holocom CEO, stated, “We recognized that the DoD is under extreme budgetary pressure, and that by offering a cost-effective alarm for our PDS, we would satisfy both their cost and operational requirements. Since Fiber SenSys became an Optex Group Company, they became an excellent choice to collaborate on filling this need.”
Duane Thompson, Fiber SenSys COO, added, “We recognized that Holocom is the leader in the PDS world and understands the government’s obligation to improve the security of its networks. Holocom has helped us modify and add to our product offerings to better meet the government’s needs.”
The combined Holocom/Fiber SenSys solution can be designed into a new PDS or added to existing Holocom PDS installations. The reenterable nature of the Holocom design allows changes to an installed Holocom PDS.
The combined Holocom/Fiber SenSys solution is available to ship in June 2012.
